How to get the Best SEO Services

Posted on January 7, 2014 by

We all know that social media has been booming lately with more and more websites every day.  It can be a very daunting task to try to increase your visibility to the masses in cyber space.  That is why engaging in a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) site might be the best way to make sure your site can easily be found.  A SEO is designed to improve your site by giving you advice about how to clean your website and make it more attractive to viewers.  There are a lot of SEO companies so choosing the best one can be intimidating.

Legitimate SEO Companies

There are many good SEO sites like http://bestwebsitedesign.com/seo-services/ to help your business; however, there are also SEO sites that try to scam you.  They will charge you a ton of money and then do anything for you.  In order to avoid that, do some thorough research.  A legitimate SEO company will review your site and offer you advice on technical issues such as error pages.  They will offer to develop more content to make your site more searchable.  These SEO companies are also experts at marketing and choosing that right target audience for your site.

When hiring a SEO company, hire them before you launch your site.  You don’t want to launch your site and then realize there are a lot of technical issues.  This will drive your audience away fast!  If you have already launched your site, a good SEO company will reorganize it.  In choosing the best SEO company for your business, ask some basic questions such as what other companies have they worked for and do they have any examples to show you?  Make sure they follow federal guidelines under the Federal Trade Commission.  Ask them how long they have been in service and where they are located.  Research them online and see if they have good reviews.  You can also ask other companies in your industry who they have used.  Referrals are always a great way to research any company!

Scam Companies

The scam SEO companies can be very detrimental to your site.  They use overly aggressive marketing using your site and can actually get your site banned from search indexes.  Legitimate SEO sites do not send you spam e-mail or solicit.  If you receive an unsolicited e-mail from an SEO site, chances are, they are a spam company.  Also be wary of SEO companies that offer the chance for your site to have over a million visitors in a week.  These are unrealistic goals.  A legitimate SEO company will never make guarantees such as that.  If the company won’t return communication or won’t answer simple questions (such as those listed above) something isn’t right.  If you feel that you were a victim of a SEO in some way, you can report them.  Visit: http://www.ftc.gov/ and click on “File a Complaint Online,” If your complaint is against a company in a country other than the United States, please file it at http://www.econsumer.gov/.

Website Design for Dummies

Posted on December 30, 2013 by

Do you want to start your own business or non-profit organization? You will definitely need a website to advertise. Any business or nonprofit without a website does not realize that they are in the twentieth century.  You cannot just rely on FaceBook, Twitter or email. You must have a landing page where people can learn about your business or nonprofit.

So what do you do if you do not know how to do website design? And what do you do if you do not have the budget to outsource to a company to get the best website design?

Your Content

First, you need to decide what kind of website you want to have. This is half the battle.

There are several questions you can ask yourself:

  • What kind of information do your constituents need to have to know more about your organization. You want to make sure your web visitors know the following information:

⁃                 You need to talk about your business. What is your business about?

⁃                 You need to share your purpose of your company or nonprofit. What is your mission and/or vision?

⁃                 You need to explain all the things your business does. What kind of services do you offer or what kind of programs do you have?

⁃                 You need to provide your contact details. How can they contact you? Do you have a physical address that people can visit or are you an online only company? You should at least provide an email address.

⁃                 If you have social media, you should include icons that link to your pages. These can include a variety of social media platforms: FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo or Instagram. There are others out there, but these are the main ones. If you only want to choose few and you are a business, LinkedIn and Twitter may be the best ones to choose. If you are a nonprofit organization, Twitter and FaceBook may be the best choices.

  • How many web pages do you want? There are positives and negatives to having many pages. You want there to be one focus on each page. However, you do not want to have your web visitors having to go through too many pages, so many that they give up on looking at your website and move to another company or to another place to donate. You probably want to have at least the following pages:

⁃                 Home Page: this is the main landing page that your visitors will find on the internet.

⁃                 Services/Products Page: this is where you will have at least one page where you will talk about the service you offer or the products you are selling.

⁃                 Contact Details Page: this is where you will tell your visitors how to contact you.

⁃                 About Us Page: this page provides a little background on your business or organization. You do not necessarily need a separate page for this.

⁃                 Donate Now Page: this is a must if you are a nonprofit. If not, then you can just ignore this!

  • What are the actions you want your customers or donors to take? The answer to this question will obviously depend on what kind of company you are.

⁃                 If you are a nonprofit, you will want your visitors to learn more about your programs of assistance. You will want them to ultimately donate.

⁃                 If you are a business, then you will want your customers to learn more about your company. Then you will want them to ultimately purchase your services or products.

Train Yourself

Then when you know what kind of content you want, there are several ways you can go about designing your web content.

▪   Take a Class: Many community colleges offer basic design classes. You will find that these are low-cost and can give you some great ideas and good training on creating a basic website.

▪   Software: There are many different software products you can use.

▪   Research: You would be surprised by the amount of articles, blogs and free webinars there are about online marketing and design. Set aside a week to train and research for yourself. Or if you do not have a week, set aside an hour each day to learn more about it.

▪   Ask a Friend: In this day and age, most people know some one who knows how to create websites. You can ask a friend to show you, and it should not take long to create the most basic of websites.

Jump In!

So you may not have the best website in the world, but it is better than no website. Just having your name in the global network will help your business and search-ability on google.

How to Choose the Right Website Design for Your Business

Posted on November 19, 2013 by

When starting an online business, there are many things to consider when choosing the right website design. A website is what tells the world about your business. It doesn’t matter what anyone says, if your website isn’t catchy or interesting enough, then you won’t have as many visitors stay on your site. Same holds true if your site has too much going on, readers will get confused and leave. So you have to find a middle ground that makes your website a place that people want to come back to again and again.

Here are some questions for you to ask, in order to help you choose the right website design for your business.

1. What is the purpose of your website?

This is the first question that you need to ask yourself. What do you want visitors to your site to leave with? What are they coming back for? Are you looking to capture leads or new subscribers, educate visitors or sell products and services to your visitors? Getting clear on what you want your website to do is the first important thing to figure out before starting your website design.

2. Who is your target audience?

Who are the people that will be looking for your website? What are they looking for when they get to your site? If you already have a website, then who is your main audience? You want to have your site to be appealing to those visitors, so that they continue to return for more.

3. Are you going to design the website yourself?

Big businesses usually hire an individual or a company to designing and maintain their websites, but what if you’re not a big company with the advantage of deep pockets yet? You can still hire a web designer, but you will just have to have them make it easily changeable for you. Also learning how to post your own content to your site can save you money on web design.

What most small businesses and individuals just starting out, and don’t have the money to invest into website design do is create their own. It’s very easy to create one yourself; you can simply use a blog platform like WordPress or Blogger. They are easy to use, and easy to maintain on your own. You can have your own website set up in a day or two, with your own theme. If you’re not sure about how to create your own site, there are tons of videos online that will show you everything you need to do, from a to z.

4. Are you going to have someone else design your website?

If you have the extra money to have someone else design your website, then first thing is to begin looking around for the right designer. You want to find a company or individual that can take your vision and bring it to life, without charging you a ton of money in the process.

If you do decide to hire someone, try to be as clear as possible about what you want. They will create their own style if they don’t have your vision in front of them, so come up with a list of details that you want to include in your design. You can also include any pictures that will help, ideas from other websites, or thing you don’t want included.

5. What is your monthly budget for your website upkeep?

Come up with a monthly budget and stick to it. If you have a web designer that you want to maintain your site, then let them know beforehand how much you can pay per month. This will help them know what they can do for your site each month. If you have created your own website, then allow a budget for plug-ins and extras for your site. You can also include any marketing fees, like PPC or hire a marketing company. Marketing can help get traffic to your website for low daily or monthly costs.

6. Stuck on your design?

Do you like other websites that are in your niche? If so, you can utilize what they are using, especially if it is getting them traffic, and get ideas from them for your site. Then you can incorporate your own ideas as well. You’re not going to steal their entire website design; you are just going to use the site to help you get more creative about your own design.

Choosing the right website design for your business is something that you must do at some point. If you have the money for a web designer, then you can hire one and have them come up with the total design. Every business owner needs one in order to have any presence on the web.
